Genevieve Curry
Artist Statement
According to legend, when I was four years old, I offered my mother a drawing by my own hand. Instead of simply patting my head and saying 'good job, kid,' she pointed at her forehead and asked me if that's where eyes are.
I was an early recipient of simple anatomical lessons that caught me high praise from elementary school teachers who probably should have made sure I could do long division—but maybe they also knew in their hearts that understanding basic proportions couldn't hurt.
I am still exploring and learning. I enjoy photography, and use the photos I take as references for some of my art. I primarily work with watercolors and colored pencils, but have been known to dabble with acrylics, pen and ink, wood carving, wood burning, stone carving, and block printing.
At the gallery, you will find my original mixed-media watercolors, signed prints, art cards, and high-quality vinyl art stickers.
