Woodturning
I started turning in August of 2022 and immediately knew that I had found something that I had to keep doing. I called Dale Larson, a long time friend and let him know what I was doing. The adventure began. He has mentored me from processing the timber to the finished product. I have had so many great woodturners help me along the way. I love our community, for so many reasons. The coolest to me is the knowledge sharing. We tell each other everything we know and learn along the way.
I care about our natural resources and try to be a good steward. I don’t cut down trees just to make bowls and things. The trees have been taken down by others for a variety of reasons.
From log to bowl it takes 12-18 months to process and dry.
I hope the things that I make with my hands will bring you and your family joy for many years. Everything I make is finished with organic walnut oil and organic beeswax.
I hope that I can pass on to others what has been passed on to me. My goal is to keep the knowledge going from generation to generation. I suppose my passion for Woodturning is apparent and I hope it’s contagious.
